Stone or Lunar Textures

Start with a grayscale image, black foreground, white background.
Apply Filter>Render>Difference Clouds.


Equalize (Cmd-E).


Apply Filter>Sytlize>Emboss using the following settings.

Then Equalize (Cmd-E).

SIMPLE STONE.

Starting with a blank page again:

Apply Filter>Render>Difference Clouds. Equalize (Cmd-E).
Apply Filter>Render>Difference Clouds again. Equalize (Cmd-E) once more.


Now Emboss using the previous settings.

LUNAR MOUNTAINS.

Invert (Cmd-I).

LUNAR VALLEYS.
